Meinong Folk Village

Chaishan
Mountain enthusiasts and climbers should not miss the Chaishan Hiking Trail in Kaohsiung. This trail, previously used as military land, was reopened in 1989, preserving its original forest and coral reef limestone topography. Visitors to this area can listen to the sounds of nature, encounter wildlife in the forest, breathe in phytoncides, and marvel at the twisted old banyan trees. The most significant aspect is the opportunity to experience the unique ecology of Chaishan, with its dense woods and groups of Taiwanese macaques.

Pier 2 Art Center
Situated in basin No. 3 of Kaohsiung Port, this unique open art space provides a platform for artists and students to express themselves freely. It has quickly become Kaohsiung's most popular cultural destination. Various art activities are held regularly, infusing the port city with a vibrant artistic atmosphere and sparking a new wave of southern art. The former western railway line, once used for transporting goods to the docks, has been transformed into Kaohsiung's busiest cycling trail. The District's public spaces are adorned with remarkable works of art, waiting to be discovered by visitors. Additionally, visitors can explore the Hamasen Railway Cultural Park and witness how time has shaped Kaohsiung's first railway station.

Sizihwan Bay
Sizihwan Bay is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets and natural reefs, with scenic attractions such as Siziwan Beach, Seaside Park, and the former British Consulate at Kaohsiung. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the sea and Kaohsiung Port. The Shaochuan artillery position, now a third-grade national heritage site, features an inscription on its gate that reads "Kaohsiung Town North Gate." Built concurrently with Cihou Fort, it was designed to cover different fields of fire. While the cannons are no longer present, three guns emplacements remain, offering a glimpse into the past for future generations to appreciate.

Wei Wu Ying Metropolitan Park
Wei Wu Ying was initially a base for the Eighth Army Group. After their relocation, the former base were transformed into a metropolitan park. The southern section of the park features South Lake, Summer Avenue, and a children's play area, as well as a three-building complex from the original base. The former parade ground and water tower have been repurposed into a scenic overlook offering panoramic views of the entire park. Additionally, a viewing platform, bike trail, and expansive grassy area have been added, providing visitors with opportunities to run, picnic, fly kites, and participate in performance activities.
